Air Quality Status

It does not seem that we have needed to worry about the air quality around Province Lake until 2023, but now we do. There are a variety of resources available. Explore and see which you like.

The nearest IQAir air quality monitor to Province Lake was located in Gilford, NH, generally upwind of Province Lake, near the south shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. The next nearest information was from Rochester, but this was based on an Air Quality Index (AQI) model using satellite data, because no physical monitors are located in Rochester.

I eventually realized that the Green Mountain Conservation Group (GMCG) has their office in Effingham. I proposed to the director that his location would be an excelent location for the installation of a monitor and provided resources to facilitate it. He and his staff enthusiastically agreed that this was well within their environmental mission, did the work, and had the station online in about 2 weeks.
